Outreach Prayer and Note Writing Ministry
Each Monday at 10 AM a group gets together to pray for those who have requested our prayers as well as those who are sick, lonely, homebound, hospitalized, in nursing homes or going through other difficult times. Cards are written and sent on behalf of the parish extending our prayers and support. Anyone is welcome to join us.

Christmas Cheer-Giving Tree and Food Boxes
Our parishioners are afforded the opportunity to pick a family from the Advent Tree that is set up in the foyer of the Church during the first week of Advent. The individual or family purchases a gift for each child in that family. These gifts, along with a food basket that has been compiled through monetary contributions and food donations from our parish and OLPS school children, are put together and presented to the family before Christmas.

An annual school supply drive takes place each July for parents and guardians needing assistance with supplies for the upcoming school year. Supplies will be distributed to children in need of assistance through the St. Timothy Food Pantry. This year’s requests are for No. 2 pencils, crayons, scissors (for elementary children), washable markers, school glue, construction paper, and wide ruled loose-leaf paper. Additionally, requests have been received for gently used book sacks, public school gym and school uniforms. Donation baskets will be placed in the front of the sanctuary. Welcome Committee
Have you noticed a new and fresh spirit in our parish in recent months? Fr. Dan has encouraged us to reach out more, not only to each other, but also to guests and visitors. You might have noticed welcome bags for visitors in the vestibule of church and a weekly thought in the bulletin regarding the importance of hospitality. We are also contacting everyone personally who registers at OLPS and presenting them with a welcome gift from the parish, along with an updated booklet with all parish ministries, organizations, programs and services with contact numbers. Come join us at our new upcoming Hospitality Sunday for guests and parishioners on November 5th! We hope everyone will join in this effort to become a more welcoming community.

Domestic Church
Provides long term support and formation for Sacramentally married couples who want to grow in holiness together as a couple. What began in Poland over forty years ago with the guidance and support of St. John Paul II is now available for English speaking couples here in the U.S. Although we know that true holiness is supposedly possible within the midst of the daily demands of marriage and parenthood, it can be very difficult to know how to access it and take advantage of the fact that marriage is a Sacrament. Domestic Church gives couples and families real, concrete help for tapping into what God has in store for us in the blessed vocation of marriage. Interested couples should attend a Domestic Church retreat, and may consider joining a follow up program (or Circle) comprised of 5-6 couples and a priest, who meet monthly for fellowship, formation and prayer time. There are currently 4 circles in the Alexandria area. For more information, contact Jenay Franco at jenayolivia@gmail.com (337)258-4155 or check out the website Domestic Church of North America.
